Vairamuthu is an institution in Tamil film world. He has spent 30 years in the industry. The monumental journey which started with ‘Nizhalgal’ in 1980 is still going strong even after ‘Endhiran’ in 2010.
Vairamuthu has written over 7000 film songs for almost all of the modern music directors in Tamil film industry. From Illayaraja-MS Viswanathan to AR Rahman- Yuvan Shankar Raja, the pen of Vairamuthu has weaved magic for them.
With so many songs to remember, Vairamuthu is coming out with a collection of his 1000 best songs from his films. The compilation is from “Ponmalai Pozhuthu” in ‘Nizhalgal’ to “Arima Arima” in ‘Endhiran’.
The must have anthology will be released at a grand function on December 2 in Chennai. Tamil Nadu CM Karunanidhi will release the mega compilation and Kamal and Rajini will together receive the first copy.
The function will be presided over by two veterans K. Balachander and Bharathiraja for whom Vairamuthu has written some of his best songs. And more, greats like Vaali, MS Viswanathan, Mani Ratnam, Shankar FEFSI Chief VC Guhanatham and other eminent personalities will speak on the occasion.
Legendary singers like KJ Yesudas, SP Balasubramaniam, P Suseela and S Janakai will belt out a few numbers of Vairamuthu on stage.
Recently a collection of 1000 best songs of Kavignar Vaali was released during his 80th birthday celebrations. Now we have Vairamuthu’s collection
