'Orukku 4 Peru' premieres in Bangalore

Cinemimi [Monday, June 27, 2011]
We had updated you on the short film 'Orukku 4 Peru.' The film which has been churned out by Greenhorns Films is a 30-minute fun experience. It has four young men at the saddles who take the movie ahead. The movie has a fresh cast comprising of Venkat Sundar, Senthil Kumaran, Yashwant, Manoj, Sai, Vigneeshwaran and Shrabani.

Written and directed by Ganesh Kumar Mohan, the film had its previews in Chennai and Bangalore and surprisingly enough the premiere in Bangalore attracted more crowd than the home ground!

At Chennai the short film was showcased at AVM Preview theatre at Vadapalani a week back. Last week the team was in Bangalore for its premiere. The response that the team received from Bangalore was overwhelming!

But mind you, do not shrug this film off as some comedy piece with some youngsters' gibberish because subtly interwoven into the script is a message in this 30-minute reel. It gives you the laughs for sure but it also makes you think as well. The team is also thinking of hitting at major districts in Tamil Nadu as well as some selected spots in the country for showcasing their product.

They might not be Alexander Dumas' four musketeers but these four guys will entertain you for sure! So people better watch out for the four in 'Orukku 4 Peru.'

Chennaiites who snubbed Vikram

Since the movie revolved around the life of an autism victim and important scenes were to be canned in the city, the filmmaker wanted some pivotal scenes to be shot at the busy streets of Chennai.

During such scenes Vikram would be let alone on the roads while the camera would be placed at a distance. Fearing the crowd, his bodyguards and others from the production would walk like bystanders around him.

But, that wasn't necessary folks.

It seems, civilians failed to recognize the star in this avatar. Some people actually thought of him as a madman and snubbed him away. In fact, an old man even went onto accuse Vikram for annoying him!

Whereas, people would flock around Anushka and Amala Paul.

Kudos to 'Chiyaan' Vikram for pulling another great performance that will remain etched in the hearts of fans.

Following this, there has been a lot of discontentment in the Council. Adding to the confusion is the circular which stated that the broadcasting rights of the Producers’ Council remains unchanged even after the change in the leadership of the Council.

Condemning this, SAC said that he never signed this circular and sought police help in finding out the real culprit who forged his signature.

'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya' that had Silambarasan and Trisha essaying lead roles as Karthik and Jessie, directed by Gautham Menon made a lasting impression among audience as it was a breezy romantic movie that ended on a positive note, that, although you may lose your loved one, life does go on.

For all you 'VTV' fans out there, we have some really good news in store for you.

The team of 'VTV' is coming together again, with a sequel for their former blockbuster. Gautham Menon will be directing this project that's tentatively titled 'Vinnaithandi Varuvein' and Simbu will play Karthik again, and AR Rahman will compose the tunes for this sequel.

So will Trisha play Jessie again? In a recent interview with a media house, Trisha expressed she would love to play a Jessie again and she's a good friend of Gautham so we're only hoping she does, however, it entirely depends on the script.

Although there's no official announcement on the project, as soon as Simbu's official fans page in a networking site passed this information to STRs fans, people started wishing them luck, predicting the story of 'VTV2' and what not.

But it is said that, 'Vinnaithandi Varuvein' will be more colourful, faster and more than just a breezy romantic entertainer.
