Trisha it is for Jiiva! Not Tamannah!

Jiiva has signed a film with 'Vamanan' fame Ahmed that is making headlines regularly as to who will be seen in the heroine slot. It was earlier reported that Trisha will be playing the female lead and rumour mills worked overtime and had it that Tamannah will also be seen in this film, as a second fiddle to Trisha!

Tamannah has rubbished these as baseless rumours, "Ahmed had met me for this script and it has only one heroine as far as I know. I couldn't take up the project due to unavailability of dates and so I'm not a part of it!"

Trisha is currently busy with work on 'Samaran' with Vishal but reliable sources close to the actress have expressed to IG that she has given a green signal for this project which will kick start post 'Samaran' and also vouch that it is a single-heroine film.

Shalini Kumar also known simply as Shalini is a south Indian film actress who debuted in the Malayalam movie Ente Mamattikkuttiyammakku at the age of three and continued to perform in many films as a child actor. After a break of several years, she returned as an adult actor to the industry in another Malayalam movie Aniyathi Pravu. She is married to actor Ajith Kumar.

Career
Shalini Kumar started acting at the age of 3 appearing in the film Ente Mamattikkuttiyammakku in 1983 for which she won the Kerala State Award for Best Child Artiste. As a child artiste, she completed over 80 films in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. She made her adult debut in the Malayalam movie Aniyathi Pravu which was remade in Tamil as Kadhalukku Mariyadhai. Mani Ratnam cast her in Alaipayuthey. She also acted in a Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari. After her marriage to actor Ajith Kumar, she left the film industry.

Although her mother tongue is Malayalam, she speaks fluent Tamil. She also sung one song in Amarkalam.

Personal life
She was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India into a Malayala Roman Catholic household from Kerala. She did her schooling from Fatima Mat. Hr. Sec School, Adarsh Vidyalaya, Chennai and Church Park, Chennai. Her brother Richard Rishi is also an actor.

In 2008, Ajith and Shalini had a daughter, Anoushka.

In 2006, Shalini stated she enjoyed badminton and has played in a few state level tournaments.

Ananya to enter wedlock

Wedding bells are ringing loud for Ananya. The 'Nadodigal' and 'Engaeyum Eppothum' actress will marry Anjaneyan, a Trichur-based entrepreneur soon. Their engagement is scheduled to take place on February 3.

Says Ananya, "It was my constant decision to leave my marriage to my parents' choice. When Anjaneyan and his family members approached elders in my family with the wedding proposal, my parents found him as the right man."

The engagement ceremony of Ananya and Anjaneyan is being organized at the actress's house at Perumbavur near Ernakulam. Wedding date is expected to be fixed during the betrothal function, which will be attended by close relatives and friends.

"I don't know whether I will continue acting or not after wedding. Anjaneyan has to decide on that," says Ananya, who is currently acting in a film titled 'Iravum Pagalum'. "I am happy about my parents' choice," she concludes.

Popular Telugu actress Genelia D’Souza was born on August 5, 1987, in England. She is also known to people close to her as Harini. Her parents originally hail from Goa and later moved to England. Title woes for Mani Ratnam's Pookadai

Mani Ratnam fans across the globe are excited as the ace director is back with a bang. His next project will be a straight Tamil film which will have Karthik's son Gautham in lead role. The film is an intense love story based on the sensitive issue of plight of Rameshwaram fishermen at the hands of Sri Lankan Navy.

Acording to sources, the director and his team finalised Pookadai as the film's title but unfortunately Saran’s assistant has approached the Directors Association claiming that he has registered the title five years ago. Looks like Mani Ratnam has to find a new title for his love story.
