An award with a difference

Veteran director and producer SA Chandrasekar (SAC) might have received several awards. However, this particular award, which was bestowed upon him and his multi-talented wife Shoba Chandrasekhar, was different. The couple was awarded Vettri Thampathigal award at the District Conference of Rotary International District 3230 on Feb 12. The celebrity couple exchanged garlands before receiving the award.

Ten selected couples of Rotary Clubs interacted with the celeb couple and posed them several questions. SAC recalled his struggles as a youngster to get into films. The audience went into raptures when he described as to how he became a permanent guest in the house of Shoba after his marriage with her. He was earlier a paying guest at Shoba’s parents place and both of them fell in love and tied the knot.

On the occasion, a short-film on the couple, starting from their wedding to the rise of Ilayathalapathy Vijay, their son was also screened much to the delight of the audience. Earlier the two-day event was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Governor Rosaiah.
