Padmapriya has signed a Kollywood project after a gap. It is 'Thangameengal', the upcoming venture of director Ram, who grabbed the attention of the whole industry with his maiden movie 'Katradhu Thamizh', the Jiiva-Anjali starrer.
Produced by Gautham Vasudev Menon, 'Thangameengal', a film on the experiences of a middle-aged man, has Ram playing the lead role as well. Now, Padmapriya has been roped in to play an important character.
"Ram is a good friend of mine. I was initially approached to play the female lead of this film. But I could not do so due to my commitments in other languages. Recently, Ram asked me to play another interesting role and I accepted it," Padmapriya says.
"I cannot say anything about my character in Thangameengal at this point of time. Only the director has the answer to it," the actress says, adding: "My Bengali movie is hitting the screens on January 20 and my two Malayalam films are getting ready for release. Talks are on for a new Tamil project."
