Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi became proud parents of a baby girl when the former Miss Universe, actor and producer delivered her child yesterday around 3:30 p.m.

Lara and Mahesh got married in February 2011 at a quiet ceremony in a Goa church. Immediately after the marriage, Lara launched her production banner, Bheegi Basanti Productions.

Lara announced her pregnancy in May 2011 and, after launching the pre-natal yoga DVD, declared she would get back to film production soon after the delivery of her child.

Among the first to tweet their congratulations were actor Neil Nitin Mukesh and filmmaker Ken Ghosh. 'IT'S A GIRL! @Dutta- Lara. I Love u.... (sic),' Mahesh tweeted immediately after the delivery, confirming the news.
