Danny Boyle says he'd be interested in directing a third film in the 28 Days/Weeks Later series.
Boyle, whose new film 127 Hours hits cinemas this week, told Orange: "Having made one of them, I watched the second one and thought it was quite good fun.
"So, I'd love to do another one. There is an idea for one. But it's about whether we get the time to organise it."
He also hinted that a third film could also be a decent directing vehicle for his 127 Hours star James Franco.
"I'd love James to direct that, and I'd love to direct it if he didn't," said Boyle.
127 Hours opened in UK cinemas on 5 January.
Boyle is also set to direct an adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein at the National Theatre in London in February, as well as the opening ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012.
