Stamp to honor actress

It is indeed an honor to the legendry actress late Savithri’s family. Yes, the Indian Postal Department will be releasing a postal stamp to honor the late actress. Savithri, wife of late actor Gemini Ganesan, has donned the greasepaint for several films in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. With over three decades of rendering service to the art, the release of the postal stamp is a tribute to the actress. Vaijayanthimala Bali will release the stamp on February 13th, 2011 in New Delhi.
