The British Academy of Film and Television Arts decides once a year to honor someone or something for their contribution to British cinema. This year they are honoring the Harry Potter franchise for basically employing the entire pool of British actors for the past 10 years. No, seriously. In their thank yous, the Harry Potter producer David Heyman said that over 2,000 people had worked on the films during the past decade which is roughly the size of England as a whole. So at one point or another everyone in Britain was working on the Harry Potter films.
But let’s be honest, they’re not awarding Harry Potter for their contribution to British Cinema. They’re awarding Harry Potter because it introduced to the world Emma Watson. And THAT deserves every award EVER. Specifically the Sam Morgan Award For Female Excellence which awards excellent females like Emma Watson. Actually only Emma Watson. She has won the award every time. Yet she has not come by to collect her trophy. Nevertheless I shall set out fresh roses and candles every day in the hopes she makes it to the awards ceremony.
