Director P Vasu wanted to cast Rajinikanth in the sequel to Chandramukhi but the project did not take off. Then Vasu decided to make this film in Telugu after the astounding success of Aptha Rakshaka, the sequel to Aptha Mithra, in Kannada and based on Rajini’s advice cast Venkatesh in the lead.

This film, titled Nagavalli, was released recently and has already been declared a hit. As per the storyline of this sequel, Venkatesh is the student of Rajinikanth.

With both the Telugu and Kannada versions faring well, will P Vasu do it again in Tamil? There were reports that he had discussed this project with Rajini and the Superstar had recommended Ajith for the role. Will Ajith take up the offer
