Expectations before pre-release
A commercial cinema that should have been made before 15 years that would have surely got more profit for the producer-director Sakthi Chidambaram. But now, the audiences are somewhat negligent towards such film. But the combination of Sathyaraj and Sundar C together had some expectations. But now, the film lacks interesting elements and runs short off a good screenplay.
What is Guru Shishyan all about?
Guru aka Guru Moorthy (Sathyaraj) is a man with big importance in Rajapalayam and is a rich man, who keeps on troubling Mahalakshmi (Saranya). They were husband and wife, who got separated as he felt that she was responsible for his sister’s suicide, a day before her marriage.
Then there is a person called Eeti (Sundar C) becoming close pal of Guru Moorthy and even troubles Mahalakshmi for his sake.
But when Gurumoorthy asks his henchmen to kill Mahalakshmi, Eeti bashes them down exposing a truth that he is her own younger brother.
Eeti is up to the action of fulfilling the dreams of uniting the separated couple and tries to break the suspense hidden behind the murder of Guru’s sister.

Performance:
Sathyaraj is same in his actions of doing Lollu here and there. His comedy bounded lines and Sundar is performing the same as in his other films. Santhanam tries doing comedy and wins at some places. The trio tries to keep the entertaining and does their best on it. Saranya also tries to do comedy and she is good on it. Hema Malini has nothing to do and Ravi Khale does not get more importance.
Technical:
Nothing special as songs are not so good and other parts of technical details also..
Direction:
Sakthi Chidambaram tries to make a entertainment film and is at the least of reaching C centre audiences. Some moments are boring and some are good. But not very pleasing movie at whole
Final Take
Only the audiences in villages and town will enjoy it.
